Orientation recap
The first two orientations were wonderful! Everyone got a chance to learn about the different activities and games to use. Students have already taken advantage and played music theory games, painted, beaded, and more! I absolutely love seeing the creative energy and self motivation these kids possess.
Every activity that a student does earns them a ticket, at the end of the month those tickets will all be entered into a drawing for a $10 gift card! I am planning on getting as many as I can locally, i.e. Dan Smith’s, Michelle’s, Sparrow Books, etc. If you have any suggestions for particular businesses you think would be motivating for students to work for, let me know.
I will be gradually adding more and more activities, largely based on both need from observations in lessons and requests from students. This week, I added sign language cards. Upcoming will be computer coding, circuits, and a chill out music listening station.
Remember, there is no additional fee, everything is there to be used and enjoyed!
The next orientation will be scheduled at the beginning of the summer, so if you missed these ones, don’t worry you will be able to join in soon!
